Healthy Homes
Indoor Air Quality
Healthy Homes is a promotores de salud (peer mentor/train the trainer) based
program in which members of a given community are trained on asthma and
indoor air quality and in turn provide training to their peers.

BCCC has developed literacy- and culturally- appropriate curriculum that outreaches primarily to the Latino population in our service areas.

Many promotores have used the training opportunity to assert themselves as community leaders and as experience for future employment.
During their presentations to community members the promotores ask that
participants sign a pledge to make at least one change in their home that
will improve indoor air quality.
